Zhujiajiao Water Town via Metro

While walking on our way back to hostel I stumbled upon a poster of seems to be a Venice Grand Canal. It is always my dream to travel Europe but since this can’t happen anytime soon I had to settle to its replica

Zhujiajiao Water Town is one of the 4 ancient water towns in Shanghai. It is located in Qingpu District, southern part of Yangtze River. It has very long and rich culture with almost 1700 years of history dating back Ming and Qing dynasties.

There are several ways on how to get to the water village. You can either take bus, taxi or train. We chose the latter since it’s the most convenient for us. Here’s how to commute via metro.

  1. Ride Subway Line 12 and alight at Hongqiao Railway Terminal Station. Transfer to Line 17 and alight at Zhujiajiao Station. Proceed to exit 1.

But since we were on a budget so we decided to walk. The distance is about 1.3 km and it will take 17 minutes’ walk to get to the Tourist Information Center and Main Entrance.
